    Are you wanting to attract, communicate, co-design, or make considered decisions in a Retirement &/or Age-friendly Community? 

    If yes, this BOOTCAMP is for you! 

    You are invited to join experienced industry leaders Becky Hirst and Jodie Prosser to investigate the new realm of fresh thinking and knowledge needed to serve the diverse expectations of the Baby Boomer. 

    The Engaging with Retirement & Age-friendly Communities BOOTCAMP is designed to support organisations to -

    • Understand how the Baby Boomer is changing how these communities communicate and operate.
    • Achieve industry best practice in community engagement and meeting industry frameworks and standards.
    • Fast track workforce skills, strategies, and tools needed to deliver high quality contemporary communication, decision making and community engagement.

    Upon completion of the course you gain an Academy Communitas Certificate in Contemporary Community Engagement Practice (Age Friendly & Retirement Living Communities). This certificate is emailed to you at the end of the BOOTCAMP. If you weren’t able to attend all sessions the certificate will list the sessions you participated in.

    WHERE AND HOW WILL THIS BOOTCAMP BE HELD?

    This bootcamp will be held via a weekly Zoom call. Whilst our cameras don't have to be on all of the time, the sessions will be interactive. In other words, this isn't a webinar - it's a come-along-for-the-ride workshop format, with a combination of teaching from the presenters, group discussions and optional homework tasks! 

    WHEN WILL THIS BOOTCAMP BE HELD?

    This bootcamp will run for SIX WEEKS for two hours on the following dates - 

    • Session 1: Wednesday 26 October - WHAT - What is community engagement all about? 
    • Session 2: Wednesday 2 November - WHY - Why is it important to engage communities? 
    • Session 3: Wednesday 9 November - WHO - Who is our community? Who do we want to engage with?
    • Session 4: Wednesday 16 November - HOW - How can we engage? What does it actually look like? 
    • Session 5: Wednesday 23 November - WHERE - Where do we engage? 
    • Session 6: Wednesday 30 November - WHEN - When can we engage? 

    The bootcamp will be held LIVEPlease check your timezone.

    PERTH 8.30am-10.30am 
    ADELAIDE 11.00am-1.00pm
    BRISBANE 10.30am-12.30pm
    SYDNEY/MELBOURNE 11.30-1.30pm 

    WHAT IF I CAN'T MAKE ONE OF THE SESSIONS? 

    Given the participatory style of the sessions, recordings will not be available after the event. All participants will however receive a copy of the slides used and topics discussed.

    WHO IS BECKY HIRST? 

    Becky Hirst is the author of For the Love of Community Engagement, a reflective memoir that calls for a rethink about how government connects with communities to inform their decision-making. Through her work over the last 23 years, Becky has worked with hundreds of government clients, helping them to engage with the people they serve. She estimates that during this time she has engaged with over 50,000 people in conversations about things that matter!

    WHO IS JODIE PROSSER?

    Jodie Prosser is a well-respected, experienced, hands-on, second generation Retirement Living Professional with a passion for people. She has a demonstrated history of building successful Retirement Communities across Australia with a strong focus on resident, staff and community engagement. Jodie has proven skills in marketing, sales, operations management, training, coaching, and mentoring, and is a strong communicator with a Bachelor of Social Science (Community Development).
